The Woodall Home
1894 Rhettsbury St.

Dale Woodall Home Beaux Art is French for 'fine art.' Truly an artistic masterpiece, this custom home, built for Indianapolis Monthly’s 2007 Dream Home, offers extraordinary splendor in an ideal location. The home is a 'City Home' and is very much a part of the downtown center in the Village of WestClay. Overlooking scenic views of Tree Shadow Pond, and Provost Park, it is nestled within a district featuring merchant stores and restaurants, and intertwined with tranquil pathways for evening leisure. It is also located near the picturesque Gothic Revival community center, with clubhouse amenities.

The raised exterior landscape limestone entry and the magnificent façade of this home prelude the grand dual staircases. Guest suites with private baths are found on the second floor. Exits to an upper balcony that overlooks a scenic pond are located in the music room and the study chamber, which includes a full bath, and a spiral stairway leads up to a comfortable quarter loft.

The main floor features a parlor with a fireplace and connects to the dining area via a delightful gallery overlooking the grand staircase. An open kitchen with family gathering or entertaining in mind leads to a sphere-shaped sunroom off the first floor balcony. The immense master suite, which provides a reclusive study alcove and private exits to the balcony, also boasts two large walk-in closets.

The lower level, entered by way of the grand staircase, features three separate terraces that are accessed from the billiard room, theatre, bar entertainment area, and den with a fireplace. A game room exhibits a remarkable domed ceiling, and the fitness room, complete with a steam shower, finishes the lower level.

The Paul E. Estridge Home
1886 Rhettsbury St.

Paul E. Estridge Home The home was designed to appeal to individuals who lead an active lifestyle. If the Village of WestClay were a microcosm of a larger city, the Estridge City Home is in the equivalent of downtown – close to the restaurants, businesses, meeting hall, etc. The homeowner appreciates the pulse of the city and has an active social life. The front porch provides the perfect setting for this social life by connecting their home to their neighbors. It's also elevated a few steps to provide great views.

There are several balconies and all of them have excellent views of the lake. And the private terrace is the perfect place to retreat outdoors away from public view.

The formal dining room, grand hall and staircase are designed for elegant entertaining – intimate enough for formal sit-down dinners but spacious enough for large receptions – all in the ornate Beaux Arts style.

The great room, kitchen and breakfast room are designed for today's modern family.

One of the unique highlights of the home is the penthouse master retreat, which encompasses the entire third floor. It's the owners private, self-contained space away from the rest of the world, where they can escape in luxury.

The lower level provides another great escape – a spa equipped with a massage room, exercise room and meditation space. The more public spaces in the lower level include a home theater and wet bar for daily living or more casual entertaining.

What is the Beaux Arts style?

Characterized by exuberant surface ornamentation, monumental scale and elaborate, symmetrical composition, Beaux Arts architecture celebrates form over function.
